The End of Racism in America

Today marks the dawn of a new era. America has never been perfect, but it has always sought to make itself better and try to correct its mistakes in the process. We have reached yet another milestone with the election of the first true African-American - Barack Obama - to the highest office in the land, President of the United States of America. Against great doubt and odds, President Obama has achieved what few seek to achieve and fewer still ever achieve.

With this accomplishment President Barack Obama has proven that race is no longer relevant in America. Indeed, he has an obligation to make that point very clear in the next four years.

I think President Obama should release a statement, something like this:
Race should not, cannot, be used ever again as an excuse for underachievement, entitlement, affirmative action or a reason for any other form of special treatment or endowment of special rights. I have made it, and you can, too - if you're willing to work hard to get there.

Turning lemons into lemonade. A silver lining in every cloud.

Joe, you know Obama will never release a statement like that. As long as he and Democrats can keep Blacks believing in those excuses, Democrats will continued to be reelected.

Since my above comment link, I have been watching "victory"
videos--listening to the "victors"
rant and rave, I wonder how many of them even know how to spell his name!

As that guy said in his video, (and I'll paraphrase) "if Republicans who are for tax cuts are for the rich, they need to make sure the rich STAY rich so that the rich will continue to vote for them. If the Democrats are for the poor, they need to make sure the poor stay that way."

'Nuff said!!

Fine and dandy as long as they don’t start ‘actin up’ and want special attention—ala reverse racism……

I have been dealing with GEORGE on the issues and my personal dislike for him…….the same will apply to Obama–somethings will never change!

Quite the opposite Joe. In fact Obama will just re-enforce the entitlement mentality of minorities. It is the double-standard that Dem's rely on. They say how they broke through the race barrier when they get what they want. But when they don't it's a direct result of racism. Just as it is the same with the election results. They won, so it's now time to "come together," and "unite." People are finally "color blind." The election was the "will of the people," and a "landslide." But if we won they would throw another temper tantrum as they do after every election they lose. Cry that it was stolen, say we are all racists, then spend the next eight years attacking the Pres, and the administration, apologizing to the world for the Republicans not letting them win.

So the moral of the story is. Left wins, the election was clean, and it's time to get behind the Pres. and "unite."

Right wins, the election was corrupt and stolen, and it's time to fight the Pres. tooth and nail for eight years, and scream and cry about how he's "not my Pres."

I think I get it now.

LOL! I was being sarcastic here. Believe me, I have no illusions that this will ever happen...even though it should.
